As usual I haven't posted in a while...

I have been busy, though! I guess with being a mommy and going to school and Jason having 3 jobs it is hard enough to find time to craft let alone blog about it! :) Here's a few pics of what I have done lately. My husband got a new toy and I wanted to make him a custom case/stand and to protect the investment. I found a tutorial for an iPod/iPad case and used the instructions provided to adapt it for other devices. I decided to use the measurements of the device in the rubber case so he didn't have to put it on and take it off all the time. The tutorial was from Made By Marzipan and it is so cool! I used a John Deere fabric that I had originally bought to make him a scrub top but, I thought this was a worthy alternative! :) If you like it make sure you check out the Made By Marzipan site for this and all of the other awesome tutorials she has there! I also used my cricut to cut some paper stencils to use as masks while doing slip work in my pottery class and...

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge: Mini Book

Image
Here is a mini book that I designed on my Gypsy using various cartridges. I used circles and used my trimmer to cut the edge off and cut a "J" from the Wild Card cartridge into it for the cover. There are scalloped circles, one that i cut the edge off for a straight edge, one that I left intact, circles layered on circles, there are large rectangle pages that open out scalloped rectangles, various frames on some of the pages, and two envelopes with inserts. All shapes were cut from Cricut cartridges. I am too tired to list them all but George Basic Shapes, Storybook, Plantin, and Wild Card were among them.

Mail Organizer

This was a fun one, and definitely outside of the box that I normally create in! :) I painted it and Mod Podged the flat background papers, then hand rolled all of the paper for the front and hot glued them down. After it cooled I sealed them with a few coats of Mod Padge. I cut the little banners with my precious Cricut (Love!!)...I am super happy with how it turned out! :) Josi

Trying to add sewing to my crafty bag of tricks...

So, sewing, not as easy as it looks! lol I have been trying to teach myself to sew. I even bought a fancy new sewing machine on that night of nights where we can sit in our pj's and watch all the crafty goodness on HSN for a whole day!!! lol It is like a holiday for me...lol! Anyway...here are a few of the small projects I have made while trying to learn about working with fabric and sewing! :) Josi
